In the presence of Hon'ble Chairperson of the National Commission for Women, Shri Kamala Kumari Parajuli Ju, Hon'ble Member Shri Krishna Kumari Poudel Jew and Hon'ble Member Shri Savitra Kumari Sharma Ju, the international slogan "Orange the World, End Violence Against Women Now" and National Slogan The commission has organized an interaction program with journalists on Wednesday with the basic message of 'End Violence' and informed about the 16-day campaign against gender based violence which will start from Thursday.
Giving information about the campaign, the Hon'ble Chairperson of the Commission, Mr. Kamala Parajuli Zou, said that 75 percent of the violence was perpetrated by close relatives. He said that most of the women did not come to lodge complaints against the violence due to the fear of not getting justice due to the violence and fear of deteriorating relationship with the family.
