An interactive program on caste discrimination was conducted in Dakshinkali Municipality on Tuesday during the 16-day campaign against gender-based violence by the National Commission for Women. The program was conducted by Dhruv Raj Chhetri, Information Officer of the Women's Commission in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Mohan Basnet, Mayor of Dakshinkali Municipality and Special Guest Deputy Mayor Basanti Tamang Dangol as well as Chief Women Development Officer Mira Sherchan, Dalit women members and concerned staff.
The chief guest thanked the Dakshinkali Municipality for organizing the 16-day campaign against gender-based violence. He said that violence from all walks of life could be reduced in the future. In the working paper of Mr. Zhou, the Secretary informed about the work done by the National Commission for Women since its inception. In addition, two working papers were presented.
